TWAS THE NIGHTINGALE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Friday, December 22, 7pm
St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Cambridge, MA
Nightingale presents a charming musical telling of Clement Clarke Moore’s classic Christmas poem, “A Visit from St. Nicholas” (commonly known as "Twas the Night Before Christmas"). The poem’s stanzas are interspersed with delicately crafted musical selections which highlight the poetry, providing parallel sacred and secular narratives of the Christmas story. The performance is around 50 minutes in length, after which we invite the audience to join us for a variety of drinks, savory snacks, cookies, and merriment. As we enjoy refreshments, join the Nightingales in singing a handful of classic Christmas Carols (sheet music provided). It’s not just a concert - it’s a holiday party!
