What does it mean to compose and imagine sound? What is the intangible that can be created? Who bestows permission to compose? Nightingale Vocal Ensemble partners with hybrid arts ensemble The Fourth Wall to explore these questions through performing playful interdisciplinary pieces involving non-standard musical notation and creative engagement with audiences and physical performance spaces. Passionate about fostering children’s artistic agency, the groups will present workshops at Williams Public School and the Angier Elementary After School Program, and premiere students’ original compositions.

This project is led by Nightingale member Rose Hegele.
