The Ocean - the most vast, deep body of water known to humanity, brimming with colorful life, dangerous storms, and unexplained mysteries - is the subject of Nightingale’s last concert of the season. The program begins by the shoreline (on the "edge of something new"), and progressively moves down into the water toward the lowest depths of the ocean. Along the way, you will hear about the famed "Wellerman," the tragic 1994 shipwreck of the "MS Estonia" in the Baltic Sea, mysterious deep-sea salt brine pools, the "Blue Eye of God" (referring to the many sea creatures who's lives are at stake due to human carelessness regarding the environment), and the "Ocean of Peace." Join us on April 23rd or 24th, 2022, the weekend of Earth Day, to celebrate our planet's great waters and our intimate connection to and fascination with them.
