Sept 19th, 7PM - St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, Chestnut Hill Sept 20th, 7PM - Veronica Robles Cultural Center, Boston At the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, Nightingale presents Justicia y Paz, a musical tapestry of Latin American choral and folk music selections that speak on themes of peace, justice, healing, and protest. Justicia y Paz weaves together excerpts from Argentine composer Ariel Ramírez’s Misa por la paz y la justicia, and Colombian-American composer Nico Gutierrez’s Requiem for the New World along with Latin American folk and popular repertoire arranged by members of the group. |

RENAISSANCE REIMAGINED
Nov 2nd, 5PM - CATHEDRAL CHURCH OF ST. PAUL, BOSTON Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Nightingale had existed 400 years ago? Come and find out at Renaissance Reimagined, a performance of new compositions based on early sources paired directly with the pieces that informed them. Inspired by Roderick Williams’ Ave Verum Corpus (Reimagined), an inventive reworking of the Byrd classic, the concert will feature pieces by Nightingale composers Nathan Halbur, Kelvyn Koning, and Ben Perry, as well as contemporary compositions by Kerensa Briggs, Caroline Shaw, and local composer Richard J Clark all showcased alongside works of the Renaissance greats. |

Mar 6th, 6PM - GORDON CHAPEL AT OLD SOUTH CHURCH, BOSTON Mar 7th, 6PM - MUSEUM OF MODERN RENAISSANCE, SOMERVILLE Nightingale will team up with early music trio The Pandora Consort to explore the "new sound" of Claudio Monteverdi's exquisitely drammatic Italian Madrigals. Monteverdi is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers and innovators in Western music history - his harmony known for being raw, lush, innovative, and unforgetable. Through selections from his nine books of madrigals and his personal letters, this performance weaves a narrative of Monteverdi’s life as a musician and the challenges of being a visionary in one's time. |

A NEW WAY TO BREATHE
May 1st, 6 PM - GORDON CHAPEL AT OLD SOUTH CHURCH, BOSTON BOSTON TICKETS May 3rd, 4PM - FIRST PARISH CHURCH, WESTON, MA WESTON TICKETS Nightingale wraps up the season with a collaboration with composer Juhi Bansal and Nightingale producer Rose Hegele, for the premiere and recording of A New Way to Breathe. This project will feature a choral cycle for SATB chorus and cello with poetry by linguist, poet, aphasia, and stroke-survivor Farzana Marie. "It is a deep program about how we keep going when our lives are suddenly ripped apart, changed, shattered, and ultimately - transformed - by something so much bigger than we ever thought we could survive." - Juhi Bansal |
