Nightingale wraps up the season with a collaboration with composer Juhi Bansal for the premiere and recording of A New Way to Breathe, a choral cycle for SATB chorus and cello with poetry by linguist, poet, aphasia, and stroke-survivor Farzana Marie.
From the composer:
"This project – which will be premiered and recorded by Nightingale Vocal Ensemble, centers on Farzana’s poetry, and on the universal experience of transformation. It’s about how we keep going when our lives are suddenly ripped apart, changed, shattered, and ultimately - transformed - by something so much bigger than we ever thought we could survive.” Rounding out the program are a world premiere of I Believe in the Sun by Andrew List as well as works by Melissa Dunphy, Katerina Gimon, and Joan Szymko.
BOSTON
Meter parking is available around Old South Church, as well as plenty of garages in the area. Please arrive early enough to settle in the space and learn more about the music before we start at 6pm.
WESTON
Free parking is available at First Parish Church in Weston and on Boston Post Road across from the town green. Please arrive early enough to settle into the space before we start the music at 4pm.
